● Visuals ( place-value blocks, charts, number lines ) to support approach, solution, and/or extract information ● Connectors to order steps ( frst, next, then ) and indicate reasons ( because, so, that means, as a result ) ● Comparative language ( same as , different than, equal to ) to share results
